Fashion Up Your Feet

WHY would we cover up when there are so many amazing sandals to lust over and show off at the office? Naturally, before you can free your feet, tackle the problem of less than fancy feet and toes. This is never a fun task, but with bright and colourful explosions of colour on toes and footwear it makes the job less daunting.

  1. Super Soaker

Soak feet in a bowl of warm soapy water for ten minutes. Toenails are thicker and more brittle than fingernails, so it’s important to soak them well before you clip or file them.

2. Smooth Moves

Use a pumice stone or foot file to remove any hard skin. Again, it will be easier to get feet seriously smooth.

  1. Straight

Use nail clippers and a nail file to trim and file your toenails straight across. Never shape them into a curve as this can lead to painful ingrown toenails. Unlike fingernails, which look best slightly longer than the fingers, toenails should never hang over the top of the toes.

4. Cuticools

Apply cuticle remover to your cuticles, massage it in – then soak feet for another five minutes in the warmest water you can stand. Remove feet from water, pat dry and push cuticles back neatly with a dry cotton bud.

  1. Massage

Give your feet a massage with your favourite body moisturiser or hand cream. Massaging the arch of the foot, between the heel and ball with your clenched knuckles is a great way to relax. Wipe over each nail with a little nail varnish remover to get rid of any greasy residues.

6. Paint

Insert some foam separators between the toes before applying a clear base coat. Once this is dry, apply two coats of colour. Make sure you always do two coats, one coat looks transparent and chips way too easily.
